In honor of my son Carlos Martín B, who suffered a fatal accident in Gustatoya, Guatemala. Doctors gave us a devastating diagnosis: he had only a 5% chance of survival, and if he did survive, he would be in a vegetative state.
But God had other plans.
Carlos, with an inexplicable strength and a desire to live that moved everyone, began his daily fight for life. Day by day, against all odds, he began to recover. Today, after five and a half years, Carlos has recovered 85% of his abilities.
He didn’t do it alone. Thanks to God, our family, dedicated professionals, and wonderful people who appeared like angels along the way, Carlos was reborn.
This story changed our lives. And we want it to change others' too.
That’s why we’re working on creating a foundation of rehabilitation centers dedicated to helping people and families going through situations like Carlos’s.
